Working Faith

Working Faith

Jun 04, 2017

Passage: James 2:14-26

Preacher: Bishop Jayson Quiñones

Series: Testify

Summary:

Faith without works is dead. Let the weight of that sink in. We must all ask ourselves a most important question: does my faith work? This chapter stands beside the challenge of being hearers of the Word and not doers, and it should be a sobering call for our introspection.

Detail:

I think we must all ask ourselves a most important question: does my faith work? This chapter stands beside the challenge of being hearers of the Word and not doers, and it should be a sobering call for our introspection.

Christianity in its truest sense is about a relationship with God through the sacrifice of Christ and a life empowered by the Holy Spirit. So if our lives are not reflecting this, the born-again experience, we MUST come to repentance and a WORKING faith in Jesus.

As believers we must heed the warnings of scripture that call us to a higher life of holiness, love and full devotion to Jesus. Our church vision is to “Please God” and this is only accomplished through faith…living faith, saving faith, working faith. This portion of James helps us understand what “God pleasing faith” looks like.
