Summary:

James calls us to honor God by being a people of integrity and wholeness. Despite the actions of those who slander, abuse or even oppress us, we should not be like them. Don't justify lying because you have been lied to; don't justify stealing because someone has stolen from you. Instead, maintain your integrity and honor God. This is how we "stay cool in hot times." A faith that can't be tested, can't be trusted -- our faith can be tested because it is not faith in ourselves, but in the risen Lord Jesus Christ. When our faith is tested, Jesus CAN be trusted.
