Reconciled

Reconciled

May 06, 2018

Passage: Colossians 1:19-23

Preacher: Bishop Jayson Quiñones

Series: All About Jesus

Summary:

It is only because of “who” Jesus is that He can do “what” scripture says He did. The Gnostic teachers were seeking to minimize the saving, reconciling work of Jesus on the cross as being insufficient, partial and therefore inadequate to “fully” save mankind. We must hold true to what the Bible says about Jesus, knowing that He is God and He is the ONLY Savior, sufficient and necessary for all of creation!

God made peace with us and expects us to persevere in Him

Memory Verse: Colossians 1:15-18 NKJV

15He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

  • We must recognize who the reconciler is: (vv.19-20)
  • We must acknowledge our need for reconciliation: (v.21)
