Philadelphia: The Faithful Church

Philadelphia: The Faithful Church

Jun 06, 2021

Passage: Revelation 3:7-13

Preacher: Bishop Jayson Quiñones

Series: Revelation

Summary:

Philadelphia is the second of the seven churches that was not rebuked, it is known as the faithful church. Our goal should be to be known, in heaven, as a faithful people! Philadelphia was twenty-eight miles southeast of Sardis, built by Attalus Philadelphus, king of Pergamos, who died B.C. 138. It was nearly destroyed by an earthquake in the reign of Tiberius. The church in Philadelphia (3:7–13) stood at an important junction of the imperial post road that ran from Rome through Troas, Pergamum, and Sardis on through to Tarsus and the East. They had an open door through which to share the gospel.
