Living For Eternity

Living For Eternity

Dec 10, 2017

Passage: Mark 10:17-31

Preacher: Bishop Jayson Quiñones

Series: Jesus Impact

Summary:

Jesus made an impact in this man's life, but not the kind we would hope for. This attests to the reality that we must be committed to truly living for eternity. Living for eternity is to live contently in light of delayed gratification; doing so with all of your might, all of your resources and choosing eternal reward over temporal comfort!

Detail:

Living for eternity will cause us to leave a lasting impression upon our culture

  • Our culture does not understand the principle of delayed gratification. We want everything hot, fresh, healthy and tasty from a microwave, a can or a drive thru. And even worse is the reality that many of us expect God to conform to that mentality.

  • Yet, the bible calls us to a life long pursuit of God -- who we will never fully know this side of heaven -- a life long race for eternal reward -- that will never be experienced this side of heaven -- and a life long conformity to the image of the Son -- that will never fully be realized this side of heaven. Talk about delayed gratification.

  • Living for eternity is to live contently in light of delayed gratification; doing so with all of your might, all of your resources and choosing eternal reward over temporal comfort.
