The most important thing for us to grasp is that Jesus is calling us to follow Him. Not just learn what He did or does; not just learn what He taught; not just learn about Him, but to follow Him. To do as He does, expecting the same outcomes of opposition and acceptance with one goal in mind “to continue the mission”.
