Passage: Romans 9:1-14

Preacher: Bishop Jayson Quiñones

Series: Foundations of Faith

Summary:

Up to this point in Romans we have seen that all men are equally accountable before God. We have seen that no one can keep God’s law perfectly and earn their own salvation, that we are all born into Adam (our federal head) and that Jesus is the last Adam who makes it possible for us to be forgiven and made right with God (justified by faith). That we have died to sin (our sinful nature) and the law (for salvation); and that we will continue to battle the sinful nature, but we are free from its power and dominion through Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit. …that we are secure in the purpose of God (foreknown, called, justified, glorified) as we are being sanctified (conformed to the image of Christ) and that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Now we turn a corner where the Apostle will directly address God’s dealings with Israel (their past 9, their present 10, their future 11). While there are some difficult Scriptures to understand, we MUST keep this in mind: the truth in Scripture will never contradict the character of God revealed therein!
