Over the last couple of years, I was contemplating a name change for the church that was more clearly connected with our vision.

Around July of last year (2016), I approached the leaders. They heard my heart and agreed, so we began to pray and seek the Lord for a name. I did a series in the beginning of 2016 entitled ‘Core Four,’ which centered around our four core values in discipleship:

• Loving God
• Growing Together
• Serving
• Reaching Others

The series was the catalyst for replacing our mentoring program. The Apostle Paul compares the church to the physical body. We are the “body of Christ,” and in order to be physically strong you must have a strong “core.” The same holds true spiritually.

In August, the name “Core Faith Church” came to me. I felt it was clear, and miraculously, I couldn’t find another “Core Faith Church” in any of my internet searches. On September 23^rd, we officially changed our name from Faithdome of Fellowship to Core Faith Church. On Wednesday, November 30^th, we officially changed the name with the bank and on Thursday, December 1^st, our signage was changed as well.

Please know, that our name change was borne from a desire to be clearer on who we are and what we are about. We’re about “building faith in Christ.” Our vision remains the same, “to please God.” Our mission remains the same, “to make disciples.” We are as passionate as ever to continue the work the Lord has called us to do.
